Should You Add Your Teen to Your Credit Card Account?

In order to open a line of consumer credit, you must be old enough to enter into a legal agreement with the card issuer. In other words, minors cannot be a primary account holder on any credit card. But, did you know that there is no national minimum for the age of a card-carrying authorized user? These minimums are set by individual card issuers, so they vary across the industry and different companies set different minimums.

2010 Hits Record of 125 Failed Banks… So Far.

An official statement by the National Economic Bureau of Economic Research determined that our current recession actually ended back in June 2009. Someone tell that to the six banks that closed this past weekend, bringing the year’s tally of bank closings to 125.

It’s gotten so bad in 2010 that some in the banking industry call the end of the work week, “Friday Night Lights Out,” reports the Herald Tribune.

Three banks closed down in Georgia on Friday (bringing Georgia’s total to 14 bank closings this year), and Ohio, New Jersey, and Wisconsin each saw a bank shutter its windows. The six b
