So big news out yesterday in the frugal entertainment world.the old Netflix DVD-to-your-home business is being spun off to a whole new brand: Qwikster

Youll now see two charges on your credit card or bank statement if you subscribe to both DVD-rentals and Netflix instant streaming.

The Netflix streaming service (which my wife loves) will be retaining the Netflix brand, while the DVD-by-mail service will be adding video games (sorry GameFly!) under the new Qwikster name.

That all being said, is anyone planning to cancel their Qwikster (DVD) service? Which one of the two do you get more use out of?

I have zero desire to be  a farmer.  But that would seem to be the logical end result if we take Obamas recent statement to its logical conclusion.  He said in his Kansas OK, I really am a socialist after all speech:

I’ve been working a lot lately with the concept of gratitude and how it can attract amazing things into your life. And in so doing, I’m amazed at how my own life, happiness, and attitude has transformed.

A few months ago, I was dealt some heavy blows that knocked me back a few steps. Ironically I was simultaneously slated to write a post about things to be happy about, which was a lucky stroke, as it started me on my path of exploring gratitude.

Gratitude in its purest form is absolutely free. It’s an emotion simply borne of being thankful for something or somebody.

How we choose to express our gratitude towards others is where cost can become a factor.
