HONOLULU: Guests strolling the great lanai at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel on Saturday, March 19, 2011, may have not known exactly what they had wandered into, but those who indeed paused to watch or who stayed to join the celebration knew they were encountering something very, very special.

Over 100 kama`aina (Hawai`i born or long-time residents) had filled the space to honor the late Alfred Apaka on what would have been the legendary Hawaiian romantic baritone’s 92nd birthday.

The IFO research found that over one-third of people have no idea how to change their broadband network’s security settings.

But guidance from the IFO is hoped to help Wi-Fi users understand the settings getter, offering advice on how to set up a strong password to stop other people accessing the network and making sure information sent online encrypted.

Steve Wood, Head of Policy at the ICO, said: “People wouldn’t go out and leave their front door unlocked, but many are still surfing the internet without adequate protection for their personal information.

“Leaving your Wi-Fi connection unsecured allows people easy access to your network.

“It also leaves you open to the actions of rogue individuals who may be using your Wi-Fi to carry out potentially criminal actions without your knowledge,” Mr Wood added.

Recently, the European Union announced that it will unveil proposals to improve security on social networking sites to allow a “right to be forgotten online”, the Guardian reported.

Credit cards create for their users a cycle which is vicious: charging for items when you do not have the money, and then finding it very hard to make the payments due to high interest. The average, in the middle, debt that is held by an American is over eight and a half thousand. By making only minimum payments, that American will pay the creditor $17,000, double what they owe. If a payment is late, you will pay much more.

One failing tactic is to jump from card to card, using low interest rates and promotional deals to the user’s advantage.
